CNN Should Have The Balls To Blackball Trump From Town Hall Meeting
Welcome to CNN, the best little whorehouse in Atlanta, Ga.
Fox is bleeding viewers since firing Tucker Carlson and like a shark that smells blood, or a prostitute sensing a John, CNN jumped in to sign up trump as the one guest at a CNN town hall next week. Yes, the same trump that called CNN and other media outlets fake news and enemies of the people, unless the media outlet was Fox.
It is the same trump who was treated like royalty by Fox as the faux news organization promoted trump’s claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election and trump’s denial of responsibility for egging on supporters to riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
It’s the same CNN that fired longtime news anchor Don Lemon last week because, earlier this year, Lemon claimed that Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley was past her prime. Lemon also shot himself further in the foot when he interviewed GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy last week and let the candidate get hardly a word in.
Yes it’s the same CNN whose chairman and CEO, Chris Licht, was hired last year, saying his mission was to ease tensions with the Republican Party and become open to politicians from both sides of the aisle.
CNN is wrong. Trump should not get a prime time slot in a town hall meeting, no matter who the interviewer is, no matter how tough CNN claims it will be on the ex-president and no matter how many fact checks CNN says it will run.
This is trump’s game. He is a professional entertainer and CNN is giving him what every entertainer, and trump in particular, yearns for, publicity, attention and control of the news cycle. The January 2021 failed insurrection at the Capitol was the end for trump, of so many thought. How wrong so many people can be.
Already, trump is dominating the daily headlines both on-line and in-print, whether it is for his plan to resume a ban on Muslim immigration, his “secret” plan to end the Russian war in Ukraine or the latest infantile nickname he has given to a political rival.
Trump will probably try to sound less the monster at the town hall meeting but there should be no mistaking him; he tried to upend the government violently, he is charged as a criminal and he will likely be convicted of rape. That is who he is.
Trump will be all over his social networking site, wrongly-called, Truth Social. He will continue to attempt to intimidate witnesses at the E. Jean Carroll by smearing the judge, Carroll and the media on his Truth Social site.
He will surely double down on his plans to pardon those arrested in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021 riot, including the Texas woman who won hugs and love at a trump rally even though she had called for anyone who voted to certify Biden as president should be executed.
Trump will continue to repeat his absurd and utterly debunked claims that he lost in 2020 because the election was rigged by the Democrats. And he will continue to rip off the American public, his so-called MAGA backers, in any way he can, whether legal or not. And most of all, he will be undeterred in his effort to seize the presidency and turn the country into an authoritarian, fascist state, while he praises authoritarian leaders around the world, especially Russian President Putin.
Inviting trump to the town hall rally is like throwing red meat out to starving tiger. Trump will lie because that is what he does. Trump will boast and bloviate because that’s what he does. He will seem genuine and likeable and he will make his audience laugh. And he will not be deterred by tough questions from the audience because he is a master dancer of deceit.
Trump was elected in 2016 largely because of the blank check he got during news coverage of the election, which translated into billions of dollars of free air play. The media, including CNN, fairly genuflected and frothed with every word out of trump, the more absurd the better, the more absurd, the more viewers, the more absurd, the more ad revenues.
CNN is about to let it happen again and if it does, the blood will be on CNN. This is not about journalism, it is about money.
It will be trump’s first town hall event since he announced his 2024 run for the White House. It also will be the first time trump has appeared on CNN since the 2016 presidential campaign. A few Republicans have entered the 2024 race but the only one with a chance to defeat trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, has not publicly announced his candidacy.
DeSantis also has been involved in a bromance with Fox, turning down interviews with other progressive outlets like CNN. This will no doubt change now that trump is getting his time in the CNN limelight. And it will undoubtedly mean higher profits for CNN.
Licht, the new CNN CEO, is no doubt under great pressure to improve revenues and to take advantage of the loss of Fox News viewers since Fox fired its prime-time host Tucker Carlson right after the company settled a lawsuit for $787.5 million with Dominion Voting Systems over false claims that Fox made following the 2020 presidential election.
In his final week with Fox, Carlson averaged more than 3 million viewers per night. The week following his departure, the network averaged just 1.6 million per night.
The New Hampshire town hall event will be aired live at 9 p.m., May 10, from St. Anselm’s College in Goffstown. CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins will be the moderator and trump says he will take questions from registered Republicans and undeclared voters.
Before CNN, Collins worked for the Daily Caller, a far right publication founded by Tucker Carlson. Carlson stepped away in June 2020. Collins joined CNN after a stint as White House correspondent who covered the 2016 election for the Daily Caller.
The Daily Caller was founded on Jan. 11, 2010, by Carlson and Neil Patel, a British-American lawyer, hedge fund manager, conservative political advisor, and publisher. The Daily Caller was created as a “conservative answer to The Huffington Post” as it published false stories and refused to run corrections when stories were shown to be untrue.
The website has published false and misleading articles that contradict the scientific consensus on climate change. In 2017 and 2018, the website cut ties with an editor and two contributors linked to white supremacist causes.
The Daily Caller was known for its pro-trump content. In 2018, trump dismissed a National Climate Assessment report by the EPA about the impact of climate change in the United States, citing a false Daily Caller story that the Obama Administration had pushed the authors of the report to focus on the worst-case scenario. FactCheck.org found no evidence for the claims.
Encyclopædia Britannica wrote that The Daily Caller “descended into extremism and sensationalism, publishing unsupported and frequently vulgar attacks on Democratic leaders, false criticisms of liberal causes, and popular conspiracy theories. The site also became known for its promotion of racist and sexist stereotypes.” The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) reported in 2017 that The Daily Caller had a “white nationalist problem.”
CNN Digital claims it is the world leader in online news and information and seeks to “inform, engage and empower the world.”

CNN can back up its highfalutin words by refusing to offer a platform for trump.
