No Vaccinations,
No Tylenol, Tums or Pepto Bismol
If all of you God-fearing, pro-life, anti-abortion, anti-vaxxers who mostly likely are Republican and trumpers are getting a headache from your heartfelt anguish and distress over the use of aborted fetal cells in development of the COVID-19 vaccines, forget about taking a Tylenol. And if your little tummy is upset over the terrible situation, you can’t use Tums to feel better or Pepto Bismol or Motrin.
That is, if you pro-life, anti-abortion, anti-vaxxers want to be consistent and accurate, two qualities that are often found lacking in this population. Fetal cell lines collected from voluntary abortions in the 1970s and 1980s were used for research and development of the COVID-19 vaccine along with dozens of other common medications including Tylenol, Tums, aspirin, Pepto Bismol, Motrin, Benadryl, ibuprofen and others. None of these vital medications include fetal cells.
The way fetal cells are used is that one cell is gathered, then multiplied infinitely to create cells used for science experiments. They are often used in vaccine development to help create virus cells that can be used for the shots.
A friend told me that he wouldn’t get the COVID-19 vaccine because he didn’t want anything made of the cells of an aborted fetus because he is against abortion but he is not against people refusing the COVID-19 vaccine and infecting others, something that is as nonsensical and dangerous as it gets. Another acquaintance said he wouldn’t get the flu vaccine because he was pretty certain that the government is secretly including the COVID-19 vaccine in the flu treatments and he knows this because of a deep-seated fear of the government nurtured by that repository of reliable information, Qanon and the rest.
Which really leads me to my main point and that is that you can pretty much guess a person’s political persuasion by the number of double negatives the person uses. With each double negative, the likelihood intensifies that the person is a Republican and very likely, a trumper. Which leads me to my real main point and that is that it is probably simpler and cheaper to run for political office now than ever before. Candidates no longer have to pay staffers to take the time to study, research and confirm statements they may plan to make on complicated issues and in fact, candidates don’t have to confer with anyone before taking a stance on difficult issues, as in the claim that powerful lasers were funded by Jews to intentionally cause wildfires in California, something that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., has claimed and claimed again and again. Actually, running for office is even easier than ever because you can appeal to the lowest levels of human awareness, certain of the fact that you will not be challenged as long as you hew to positions the lowest levels of humans support, as in white supremacy, xenophobia, homophobia and appealing to the religious beliefs, even if they’re made up.
The danger in unethical politicians pushing unproven and dangerous science is showing itself in the growing number of health care workers who say they will refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccinations, as is required throughout the country as of Oct. 8, because they object to the use of fetal cell lines. To put this in context, health care workers who are responsible for the health of people with very serious illnesses are refusing the vaccinations and are potentially putting patients in danger of getting sick from the virus because they object to the use of fetal cell lines when the reality is that the fetal cell lines used in the research come from two, yes two, elective abortions (again this is not a typo, there were just two elective abortions involved), HEK-293, A kidney cell line that was isolated from a fetus in 1973 (undisclosed origin, from either a spontaneous miscarriage or an elective abortion) and PER.C6, a retinal cell line that was isolated from an aborted fetus in 1985, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Some religious leaders in the Arian-like megachurches and politicians on the right, most likely trumpers all, like Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott continue pandering to fears and misinformation (including many members of Congress who also said the Jan. 6 attacks on the Capitol were overblown) and are pushing against the use of vaccinations because of the inaccurate claims of the use of fetal cells. By the way, an experimental monoclonal antibody concoction made by Regeneron that was hailed by trump as a “cure,” was tested on cells derived, long ago, from fetal tissue. His administration also slashed research funding for the same cocktail.
And as for religious objections by many ill-informed and foolish people, the Catholic Church and the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, both hard core abortion opponents, have said that receiving a COVID-19 vaccine that required fetal cell lines for production or manufacture is morally acceptable. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops goes further and said that “receiving a COVID-19 vaccine ought to be understood as an act of charity toward the other members of our community. In this way, being vaccinated safely against COVID-19 should be considered an act of love of our neighbor and part of our moral responsibility for the common good…Given the urgency of this crisis, the lack of available alternative vaccines, and the fact that the connection between an abortion that occurred decades ago and receiving a vaccine produced today is remote, inoculation with the new COVID-19 vaccines in these circumstances can be morally justified.”
On March 2, 2021, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a statement which addressed the use of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine.
“If one can choose among equally safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines, the vaccine with the least connection to abortion-derived cell lines should be chosen. Therefore, if one has the ability to choose a vaccine, Pfizer or Moderna’s vaccines should be chosen over Johnson & Johnson’s…While we should continue to insist that pharmaceutical companies stop using abortion-derived cell lines, given the world-wide suffering that this pandemic is causing, we affirm again that being vaccinated can be an act of charity that serves the common good,” the bishops’ statement said.
And the Catholic Church said, “Those who, however, for reasons of conscience, refuse vaccine produced with cell lines from aborted fetuses, must do their utmost to avoid, by other prophylactic means and appropriate behavior, becoming vehicles for the transmission of the infectious agent. In particular, they must avoid any risk to the health of those who cannot be vaccinated for medical or other reasons, and who are the most vulnerable.”
So anyone planning to run for office can just make up something to rail about or use the tried and true method of spreading of misinformation based on nothing about the use of fetal cells in vaccines, repeat ad nauseam the big lie about non-existent voter fraud; claim with no proof that China intentionally hatched the COVID-19 virus; insist that an evil cult is ruling the planet, led by powerful Jewish families; that Jeffrey Epstein’s island was not only a sex trafficking ring but also housed a satanic cult where humans were sacrificed; or that trump was sent by god. Oh my.
